Crockpot Cookery... a Ragu Sauce


Ground Beef and Tomato Ragu

1 pound of ground beef (you can add sausage if you like)
1 onion, chopped
1 carrot shredded
1 cup fresh parsley
28 ounce can Italian Style Tomatoes (or I use crushed tomatoes)
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
1 cup water or broth
1 tsp dry basil
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Brown ground beef and then dump everything into a crockpot and cook on LOW all afternoon. Great over pasta or as a pizza sauce!!!

  1. This sounds great! I'm trying to get all psyched up to bring on the crockpot in the next two weeks when the church meals stop coming! I LOVE my crockpot!
