Christmas Morning Breakfast...

When I did my baking practical final in November I made these scones. They received top marks from the Chef Instructor. I decided they would be perfect for Christmas morning so here they are... served with scrambled eggs. Want the recipe? Here ya go...

Craisins and orange scone

½ lb AP flour
1 tsp heaping baking powder
3.5 ounces butter
½ Tbsp heaped sugar
Pinch of salt
1/3 cup Craisins (soaked to plump)
Grated orange zest
1 large egg beaten
½ cup milk
Mix using Biscuit method – sift the dry ingredients, cut in the fat add garnishes and milk and work until just coming together, shape and cut. Bake 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Make an orange glaze to drizzle on top to finish – powdered sugar and orange juice
