It's a Recipe Party!

Today Karla at Looking Towards Heaven is posting holiday recipes great for parties. If you would like to participate and share a recipe just pop on over and take a look at the instructions. I thought I would share a Chex Mix recipe that we use a lot this time of year. We make lots of Chex Mix in our house but this is a holiday favorite we take to scouting events and church things.

Ingredients:

3cups Corn Chex® cereal
3cups Rice Chex® cereal
3cups Wheat Chex® cereal
1cup sliced almonds
1/4cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4cup packed brown sugar
1/4cup frozen (thawed) orange juice concentrate
1/2cup dried cranberries

Preparation Directions:

Heat oven to 300°F. In large bowl, mix cereals and almonds.
In microwavable measuring cup, mix butter, brown sugar and juice concentrate. Microwave uncovered on High 30 seconds; stir. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into ungreased large roasting pan.
Bake uncovered 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Stir in cranberries. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

You can make lots more varieties of sweet or savory snacks at the ChexMix.com website. Check it out when you get a chance. It is a great place to find recipes that the kids can make, too. :)

  1. I love anything with dried cranberries in it and I love chex mix. This sounds really good, I'm going to give it a try!

  2. I love a chex mix that is sweetened. I think I'll make this for New Year's Eve.

Thanks for joining in the fun!

    Blessings,
